Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test and can only be taken by graduates who wish to study Masters, MBA or PHD degree in US and Canada. The test is owned and managed by Educational Testing Services (ETS). GRE scores are important admission criteria for US universities but cannot guarantee admission solely. A good GRE score allows you to apply in top universities and supports your application for financial aid.

The test is computer adaptive test comprising of six sections which tests Verbal reasoning, Quantitative reasoning and Analytical writing skills. The first section comprises of combination of easy and hard questions followed by the second section. Based on the number of correct answers in the first section student follows into the second section. High scores are achieved by answering harder questions correctly. The format of the test is laid in a way where no two students get the same questions. There should be a gap of 21 days between 2 tests, and it can be taken 5 times in a year.
